Didit vs Hummingbird: alerts, cases and FIU reports in one account

Didit vs Hummingbird from public pages: Didit raises the alert, holds the identity evidence, runs the case and drafts goAML XML and PDF reports for your filing, with KYC, KYB and an Investigator agent in one account.

In short

Didit vs Hummingbird is a question about where your alerts come from. Didit runs the case and the alert source in one account: transaction monitoring raises the alert, the case opens next to the verified identity, and Didit drafts the SAR or STR as goAML XML and PDF for your filing. Hummingbird monitors from your data warehouse and brings identity, business and blockchain data in through third-party apps.[6][8][14]

  • Hummingbird states its monitoring does not sit in the flow of funds, and teams write SQL to define the data views it monitors.[6] Didit scores each transaction at $0.02 with 150+ preset rules and can hold a flagged one for a selfie step-up.[11][15][17]
  • Hummingbird's own identity and business verification is not documented on its public pages (checked 2026-10-25).[8][9] Didit runs a full KYC check for $0.33 and KYB from $2.00, with a linked KYC for every owner and officer.[11][26]
  • Didit's Investigator agent reads each case and alert waiting for review and writes a cited report within your policy, for $0.20 per reviewed item. It never files a regulatory report.[19]

Teams looking at a Hummingbird alternative usually sit in compliance operations: a BSA/AML team at a bank or sponsor bank, a fintech's financial-crime unit, or a crypto compliance desk. The question that decides the tooling is whether the case tool also produces the alerts and holds the identity evidence, or collects them from somewhere else.

Hummingbird sells a case-management and investigations platform for financial-crime compliance teams. We build Didit, so read this as our side. Every Hummingbird fact below comes from Hummingbird's own public pages, read on 25 October 2026, and each one is cited.

The case and its alert source in one account

On Didit, the alert and the evidence behind it live in the same account as the case. Every transaction is scored against real-time rules at $0.02 per transaction, and alerts and cases open in the same console as the user's KYC record.[11][12] Didit ships over 150 preset transaction-monitoring rules, and you can backtest a rule against your own history before you switch it on, from the console, the API or an AI agent.[15][16]

Hummingbird delivers its monitoring on top of your cloud data warehouse. Its monitoring page says your team must have some proficiency with SQL, because you write SQL queries to define the data views used for monitoring.[6] The same page says the solution does not sit in the flow of funds, and that it can be used against fraud for certain non-real-time payment methods such as ACH, wire and check.[6]

Hummingbird monitoring page FAQ expanded: Do I need to know SQL to use your solution, answered Yes and no, but mostly yes.

Hummingbird's monitoring FAQ on 25 October 2026: teams write SQL queries to define the data views used for monitoring.[6]

When a Didit rule flags a transaction, Didit can hold it and ask the user for one selfie, matched against the face they already verified.[17] The case then opens with the transaction, the rule, the step-up result and the original verification.

From case to FIU report

Didit drafts SAR, STR and other FIU reports from the case and exports them as goAML XML and PDF for your filing.[14]

Hummingbird documents filing SARs and STRs from the case, including direct e-filing with FinCEN and FINTRAC.[2][3] The report is the end of the case. Didit's advantage sits upstream: how the alert is raised, what evidence the case already holds and how much of the review an agent prepares.

Who files

Didit never files a regulatory report. The decision to file and the submission stay with your compliance team.[14][19]

The identity half underneath every case

Most alerts end with a question about the person or the company. On Didit, the answers come from checks in the same account as the case.

A full KYC check (ID verification, passive liveness, face match, and device and IP analysis) costs $0.33, and Didit supports 14,000+ document types.[11] AML screening is $0.20 a check, and ongoing AML monitoring is $0.07 per profile per year.[11]

Hummingbird's customer screening uses sanctions, PEP and adverse media data from third-party providers in its data marketplace, and says coverage varies by provider.[7] Its own document or selfie verification is not documented on Hummingbird's public pages (checked 2026-10-25).[9]

KYB with a KYC for every owner

Company registry checks cover 220+ countries and territories, and you choose per country how much registry data you buy: company profile, shareholders, or ultimate beneficial owners. Business verification is from $2.00 per business.[11][27] Didit checks each declared owner and officer against the company's own documents, then screens them and sends each one a linked KYC.[26] Hummingbird brings in third-party business-data apps; its own business verification is not documented on its public pages (checked 2026-10-25).[8]

Government and authoritative databases, documented per country

Didit's catalog documents government and authoritative database checks in 45 countries plus a Global group: a government register in most countries, and a credit-bureau, financial-services, utility or residential file in some.[28] Each check lists the inputs it needs, the fields it returns and prerequisites such as recorded consent for South Africa's Home Affairs photo lookup.[31] Where the national register holds a photo, as in Argentina, Nigeria, Panama and South Africa, Didit matches the user's selfie against it.[29]

CountryWhat you sendWhat comes back
Argentina, RENAPERDocument number, gender, selfieNames, date of birth, tax ID, face match score[28]
Mexico, CURPCURPCURP status, names, date and state of birth[28]
South Africa, Home AffairsNational ID number and the user's recorded consentRegister photo to match against the selfie[29][31]

Native government database checks are not documented on Hummingbird's public pages (checked 2026-10-25); public-records search comes through third-party apps.[8]

Wallet screening for crypto compliance desks

Screen any crypto wallet address on demand for $0.15 per check, with a signed PDF report.[11][18] Didit runs it on blockchain-analytics providers, and the result sits on the same user as the KYC and the transactions. Hummingbird connects third-party blockchain-analytics tools through integrations to create cases automatically; its own wallet screening is not documented on its public pages (checked 2026-10-25).[8]

Agents in the review queue

Hummingbird documents AI agents too.[4][5] The useful comparison is what the agent can see.

Didit is agentic, and its agents read the evidence already in the Didit account. The Investigator agent reads each verification, transaction alert or case waiting for review, writes a report with a recommendation and cites every piece of evidence it used. It decides on its own only within the policy and autonomy level your team sets, it never files a regulatory report, and every decision is logged.[19] It runs on Didit's Growth plan and above, Didit enables it per organization, it is not available in sandbox, and it costs $0.20 per reviewed item. A support agent answers your users' support conversations from $0.02 per message.

Copilot works inside the Business Console. Describe the verification flow you need and Didit Copilot builds a validated draft workflow, citing the documentation it used.[23] Publishing requires your confirmation, and when it edits a workflow, a change card lists what changed and Undo reverts it.[22]

Your own agents connect through Didit's hosted MCP server at mcp.didit.me, over OAuth 2.1 with Log in with Didit, so there is no API key to paste.[20] Your AI agent can create, backtest and install transaction-monitoring rules through the Didit MCP, then hand them to you in test mode. Ask it why a session was declined, and the Didit MCP traces the warning, status rule or reviewer override behind it.[21] An MCP server is not documented on Hummingbird's public pages (checked 2026-10-25); its announcement says customer-built agents can work inside Hummingbird using its API and forthcoming agent tools.[5]

Prices you can read before the first call

Didit publishes a list price for each module and charges a session only for the checks it runs. Passive liveness alone is $0.10 and Document AI reads any document you define for $0.20 per document, alongside the prices above.[11] Didit's workflow builder shows each step's price while you build.[24]

No pricing page or published prices are documented on Hummingbird's public pages (checked 2026-10-25); its product pages route to an expert call or a demo request.[1] Its developer docs site is password protected.[10] On Didit you open an account at business.didit.me and work in the sandbox, with no quote to request.

Didit's plans change on 1 November 2026. The per-check list prices quoted here stay the same on the new plans.[30]

Workflows and the evidence behind every decision

Didit's workflow builder lets branches merge back into one path and flags a branch that contradicts the outcome it routes to, before you publish.[24] Every Didit session decision returns each check's result, the extracted fields, the capture images and videos, and the warnings behind the decision, through one API call.[25]

One record per decision

An examiner reads the check results, the extracted fields, the captures and the warnings in one place, next to the case and its report draft.[13][25]

Frequently asked questions

What is the main difference between Didit and Hummingbird?

Where the case gets its alerts and evidence. Didit runs transaction monitoring, KYC, KYB and AML in the same account as the case, and adds wallet screening run on blockchain-analytics providers. Hummingbird monitors from your data warehouse and uses third-party apps for identity, business and blockchain data.[6][8][12]

Does Didit file SARs with FinCEN or FINTRAC?

No. Didit drafts SAR, STR and other FIU reports from the case and exports them as goAML XML and PDF for your team to file. Hummingbird documents direct e-filing with FinCEN and FINTRAC.[3][14]

Do I need SQL to run transaction monitoring on Didit?

No. Didit ships over 150 preset rules you can backtest on your own history. Hummingbird's monitoring page says teams write SQL queries to define the data views used for monitoring.[6][15][16]

What does the Investigator agent decide on its own?

Only what your team allows. It decides alone only within your policy and the autonomy level you set per queue, never files a regulatory report, and logs every decision.[19]

Is Didit a good Hummingbird alternative?

Yes. Didit raises the alerts, holds the identity and business evidence, runs the case, drafts the goAML report and puts an agent on the review queue, in one account with published prices.[11][14][19]
