Didit vs Unit21: KYC, KYB, AML and monitoring on one record

Didit vs Unit21 from public pages: native KYC and KYB with a KYC per owner on the same record as AML screening and transaction monitoring, plus the Investigator agent, an MCP that builds rules and published prices.

In short

Didit vs Unit21 is a question of where identity lives. Unit21 runs fraud and AML monitoring and ingests identity, business and on-chain data from third-party providers.[1][6] Didit runs KYC, KYB, AML screening and transaction monitoring natively on one customer record; wallet screening runs on blockchain-analytics providers and is ordered and paid for in the same account. Its Investigator agent reviews verifications, alerts and cases.[11][25]

  • A full Didit KYC check is $0.33 and transaction monitoring is $0.02 per transaction, both published.[11] Identity verification is not documented as a Unit21 product, and no Unit21 prices are published on the pages reviewed.[6][9]
  • Didit's KYB sends each owner a linked KYC; Unit21 lists KYB through a third-party integration.[6][14]
  • Didit's MCP lets your agent create, backtest and install rules; Unit21's MCP is documented with read access.[8][27]

Teams that compare Didit with Unit21 usually run compliance and fraud at a fintech, a crypto platform or a sponsor bank. Their monitoring vendor sees transactions, while the identity checks, the business checks and the wallet data come from other vendors and arrive through integrations. Each vendor adds a contract, a data model and a place where an alert loses its context. That is the frame for this comparison.

Unit21 sells an AI-agent fraud and AML platform for transaction monitoring, screening, case management and regulatory filing.[1] We build Didit, so read this as our side. Every Unit21 statement below comes from Unit21's own public pages, read on 25 October 2026, and each one is cited.

Identity and monitoring on the same record

Identity verification, liveness and face matching are not documented as Unit21 capabilities on the pages reviewed. Its integrations page lists third-party identity-verification providers whose results Unit21 ingests into risk scoring and review workflows.[6]

On Didit the identity check and the monitoring run on the same platform. A full KYC check (ID verification, passive liveness, face match, and device and IP analysis) costs $0.33, and every Didit session decision returns each check's result, the extracted fields, the capture images and videos, and the warnings behind the decision, through one API call.[11][12]

Didit's catalog documents government and authoritative database checks in 45 countries plus a Global group: a government register in most countries, and a credit-bureau, financial-services, utility or residential file in some.[22] Where the national register holds a photo, as in Argentina, Nigeria, Panama and South Africa, Didit matches the user's selfie against it.[23] Government-database integrations are not documented on the Unit21 pages reviewed.[6]

Identity also comes back after onboarding. When a rule flags a transaction, Didit can hold it and ask the user for one selfie, matched against the face they already verified.[18] Because Unit21 documents no liveness or face matching of its own, a biometric step-up there depends on a separate identity provider.[6]

Transaction monitoring on both sides

Unit21 documents real-time monitoring that blocks fraud across RTP, FedNow, ACH, cards and crypto with sub-250ms latency, and AML transaction monitoring that combines detection models and configurable rules with historical backtesting and shadow mode.[1][3]

Didit ships over 150 preset transaction-monitoring rules, including iGaming presets for bonus abuse and chip dumping.[16] You can backtest a rule against your own history before you switch it on, from the console, the API or an AI agent.[17]

Didit's workflow builder shows each step's price while you build, and its editor flags a branch that contradicts the outcome it routes to, before you publish.[13]

KYB with a KYC for every owner

Unit21 lists KYB through a third-party business-verification integration; a native KYB, registry or UBO product is not documented on the pages reviewed.[6]

Didit checks companies in registries across 220+ countries and territories from $2.00 per business, and you choose per country how much registry data you buy: a company profile, or shareholder and UBO data where the registry holds it.[11][15] Didit checks each declared owner and officer against the company's own documents, then screens them and sends each one a linked KYC.[14] When a business customer's payments start to trip rules, its owners' verified identities are already on the same record.

Crypto: wallet screening and Travel Rule

Unit21 says it ingests blockchain data alongside fiat flows through integrations with blockchain-analytics vendors. A native per-address wallet screening product with its own pricing, and Travel Rule messaging, are not documented on the pages reviewed.[7]

Screen any crypto wallet address on demand for $0.15 per check, with a signed PDF report.[20] Wallet screening runs on blockchain-analytics providers, and you order it, read it and pay for it in your Didit account, on the same customer as the KYC. Didit exchanges Travel Rule data in IVMS 101 and can route transfers between Didit customers directly or by secure email when no protocol reaches the counterparty.[21]

The user is verified at sign-up for $0.33. The deposit address is screened for $0.15 and the transfer is scored for $0.02. If a rule fires, the transfer is held until the user passes a one-selfie step-up against the verified face.[11][18][20]

Cases and regulatory reports

Unit21 documents direct submission of SARs and CTRs to FinCEN and STRs to FINTRAC from within Unit21, and validated goAML XML exports with purpose-built configurations for Malta and the Netherlands.[4] Its case management has AI agents gather evidence, draft narratives and log every investigative step.[1]

Agents on both sides, and what they can touch

Unit21 describes itself as an agentic fraud and AML platform: a Detection Agent and an Investigation Agent run the loop from detection to investigation, every step is logged, and autonomy is configurable per queue, risk tier and jurisdiction.[1][2] Its remote MCP server is enabled by an org admin who grants agents MCP read access, and a Rule Writer Agent is announced as coming soon.[8]

Didit's Investigator agent reads each verification, transaction alert or case waiting for review, writes a report with a recommendation and cites the evidence it used. Because identity is native, it reviews verifications as well as alerts and cases. It decides on its own only within the policy and autonomy level your team sets, it never files a regulatory report, and every action is logged.[25] It runs on Didit's Growth plan and above, Didit enables it per organization, it is not available in sandbox, and it costs $0.20 per reviewed item. A support agent answers your users' support conversations from $0.02 per message.

Describe the verification flow you need and Didit Copilot builds a validated draft workflow, citing the documentation it used.[29] Publishing requires your confirmation, and when it edits a workflow, a change card lists what changed and Undo reverts it.[29][28]

Pricing and access

Didit publishes a list price for each billable check and charges only for the checks it runs: $0.33 for a full KYC check, $0.20 for AML screening, $0.07 per profile per year for ongoing AML monitoring, $0.02 per monitored transaction and $0.15 per wallet screening check, with KYB from $2.00 per business.[11] You can turn ongoing AML monitoring on for up to 1,000 customers in one API call, with a cost estimate before you commit.[24]

No Unit21 prices are published on the pages reviewed: its pricing address returns Page Not Found.[9] Its developer documentation asks visitors to sign in by email to request access, and a self-serve sign-up is not documented.[1][10]
