Didit vs Persona: key differences in price, plans and scope
Didit vs Persona compared from each vendor's public pages: per-check prices against plans and contract terms, the free start, coverage, liveness, AML, KYB, transaction monitoring and integration.

In short
Didit and Persona both verify government IDs and selfies with liveness, and both cover more than 200 countries and territories.[3][12] The difference is how you buy: Didit puts a public price on every check and you can start on the Free plan today, while Persona sells plans, most of them quoted by sales.
- Persona's self-guided Essential plan starts at $250 a month with a 12-month minimum contract term, and Growth and Enterprise are quoted by sales.[1] Didit publishes a price for every check: $0.33 for a full ID check, pay as you go.[11]
- Persona's AML page lists transaction monitoring as early access.[5] Didit prices it at $0.02 per transaction today, in the same account as KYC and KYB.[16][25]
- Persona is stronger on some proof points: iBeta Level 2, a FedRAMP listing and US or EU data centers.[4][8] Didit brings a Spanish regulator attestation that its NFC and liveness checks are at least as safe as in person.[17]
If you are weighing Didit vs Persona, both will read a passport, match it to a selfie and tell you whether a real person was in front of the camera. This post covers the differences that change a buying decision: how each one prices, how you start, coverage, liveness evidence, anti-money laundering (AML) screening, business verification (KYB), what happens after onboarding, and integration.
We build Didit, so read this as one side of the comparison. Every Persona fact below comes from Persona's own public pages as we read them on 23 October 2026, and each one is cited. Where Persona is stronger, we say so.

Pricing: a public price list against a plan and a contract
This is the biggest difference. Persona's pricing page shows three plans. Essential is the self-guided plan, described as access to templated identity services with email support, and it starts at $250 a month with a minimum contract term of 12 months. Growth adds the full suite of verification checks and fraud tools, KYB, Graph and Marketplace apps, and Enterprise adds bespoke programs and custom pricing; both are behind a "Contact us" button.[1] The page lists which services each plan includes. It does not list a price per verification for any plan.[1]
Didit publishes the price of every check, and a session is charged only for the checks it actually runs. A full ID check, meaning the document, passive liveness, face match and device and IP analysis, is $0.33. AML screening is $0.20, ongoing AML monitoring is $0.07 per monitored profile per year, and a returning-user biometric re-check is $0.10.[11]

What the first year commits you to
On Persona Essential, the published floor is $250 a month for at least 12 months, so at least $3,000 ($250 × 12) in plan fees over the first year, before any per-verification rate is published.[1] On Didit you can start on the Free plan and pay $0.33 per full ID check at list price, from prepaid credits.[11] Persona's per-verification prices are not public, so we cannot compare totals; ask Persona for a quote and price the same workflow on Didit's pricing page.
Prices as of 23 October 2026
Didit prices in this post are the list prices on docs.didit.me on 23 October 2026. Didit moves to new plans on 1 November 2026, and the full ID check and watchlist screening are still $0.33 and $0.20 at list price on the new plans.[25]
One point in Persona's favour: its pricing FAQ says contracts are pay per successful verification, so a user who drops off because of a blurry image is not charged.[1] Didit also bills a feature only when it is fully completed.[11]
The free start: Startup Program against a Free plan
Persona's Startup Program gives eligible startups and small businesses up to 12 months of free access to a set of core services, with a monthly allotment of free verifications. Services beyond the monthly free allotment cost $1 each in the General cohort and $1.50 in the fintech cohorts. A credit card is needed to apply. After 12 months the account is deactivated unless you move to a paid plan, and the program does not include guaranteed support from Persona's customer support team.[2]
Didit has a Free plan and a self-serve sandbox. There is no cohort and no 12-month cliff: you open an account, build a workflow and pay for the checks you run as volume grows.[11]
| Starting out | Didit | Persona Startup Program |
|---|---|---|
| Who can join | Any business | Eligible startups and small businesses[2] |
| How long | Free plan, pay as you go at list price[25] | Up to 12 months, then deactivation without a paid plan[2] |
| Beyond the free allotment | List price per check, $0.33 for a full ID check[11] | $1 per service beyond the free allotment, $1.50 in fintech cohorts[2] |
| Next step up | Published plans and per-check prices; talk to sales for enterprise terms[11] | Essential from $250 a month, 12-month minimum term[2] |
Coverage and liveness
Persona verifies government IDs from 200+ countries and territories and says most decisions take 5 to 10 seconds.[3] Its global expansion page lists authoritative database checks in 40+ countries.[6] Didit lists 14,000+ documents across 220+ countries and territories and runs its flow in 54 languages.[12][13] The vendors count differently, so test the documents your users actually hold.
Liveness is where Persona holds the stronger lab result. Persona states that iBeta found it compliant with Level 1 and Level 2 of ISO/IEC 30107-3, with an attack presentation classification error rate of 0%, and that its face matching was evaluated by NIST.[4] Didit holds iBeta Level 1 under the same standard: the lab ran 360 presentation attacks across six attack categories and none got through.[17]
Where Persona is ahead
If your security team asks for iBeta Level 2 by name, Persona has it and Didit does not. Persona also lists a FedRAMP Marketplace entry for public-sector buyers, and lets you choose US or EU data centers.[8]
Didit runs its own liveness with three methods you pick per workflow: passive (a single capture), 3D Flash, and 3D Action and Flash.[22] Its certifications page also states that after a supervised test from November 2024 to July 2025, Spain's Tesoro Público, Banco de España, SEPBLAC and CNMV concluded that Didit's NFC and liveness verification is at least as safe as an in-person ID check under anti-money laundering rules.[17] On audits, Didit holds SOC 2 Type 2, ISO/IEC 27001:2022 and the ISO/IEC 27017 and 27018 extensions,[17] and Persona's pricing page describes its hosting as SOC 2 Type 2 infrastructure.[1]
AML, KYB and what happens after onboarding
Both offer the first two, though Persona's full KYB sits on its sales-quoted Growth plan. The difference is how much is priced in public and how much is generally available today.
AML screening. Persona screens against 100+ global warning and sanctions lists, with continuous monitoring through recurring screenings.[6][9] Didit screens against 1,300+ global watchlists covering sanctions, PEPs (politically exposed persons), criminal records and adverse media, at $0.20 per check, and monitors each profile for $0.07 a year.[11][14][21]
Business verification. Persona states access to 150+ global data sources for KYB and checks business registries in 100+ countries.[7][6] On the Essential plan, business verification is US only; full KYB, including ultimate beneficial owner (UBO) verification, sits on Growth.[2][1] Didit sells registry checks in three tiers, Lite from $2.00, Shareholders and UBOs, screens the company and each owner and officer, and can send each beneficial owner through their own identity check.[15]
After onboarding. Persona's AML page lists transaction monitoring with prebuilt and custom rules and SAR filing, marked early access.[5] Didit's transaction monitoring scores every fiat or crypto transaction against real-time rules, opens alerts and cases, and can send a user back through verification when a rule asks for it, at $0.02 per transaction. Crypto wallet screening runs inside the same module.[11][16]
1Verify the person or the company
Document, liveness and face match, or a registry check with owners and officers.
2Screen against watchlists
Sanctions, PEPs and adverse media at onboarding, then ongoing monitoring.

Workflows, fraud tooling and case review
Persona's platform is broad here, and it deserves credit. It offers a no-code workflow builder, case management with Case Review Agents that can decide routine cases, SAR filing features, and Graph, a link-analysis tool that exposes fraud rings across accounts.[10][24] The plan table shows how much of this depends on the plan: Essential gets 3 case templates, 5 end-user flow templates and view-only behaviour signals, while Graph and unlimited templates sit on Growth and Enterprise.[1]
Didit's workflow builder, manual review queue and case management come with the account. Every session is set automatically to Approved, Declined or In Review, and the In Review sessions land in your Business Console for your team to decide.[20]
